(Sorry, I mistakenly posted this under Introductions...)

The Nordie I'm working on at the moment has a black-painted 558cc motor with kickstart spindle and a cylinderhead with separate inlet stubs, and a smaller bore primary carb. My guess is it may have come from an RC600?

Adding to the confusion, I now find that the VIN label on the headstock of what appears to be a NordWest frame has 348cc on it. I can't find any evidence so far that Gilera made a 350 Nordie, and the 350 Dakota looks to have a very lightweight frame and swingarm.

Anybody have any idea what I've got? If it helps, I'll look out the actual frame and engine numbers tomorrow.

Several references to a 350 Nordwest returned from a Google search. Also in Gen#4 page 10:
"GILERA LITERATURE I have WORKSHOP MANUALS and SPARE PARTS CATALOGUES which cover the following Dakota 350-500. Dakota ER 350-500. Nordwest 350. Nordwest 600. '91,'93, Inductive ignition. RC600. '89-'90,'91,'92,'93, Inductive ignition. RC600R. start, Kick start-Inductive ignition. Saturno 350-500. XRT 350-600. GFR!Apachy!Chrono/CX/Freestyle."

Thanks for that. Not surprising then, that someone with a 350 would fit any 600 they could find.
