I removed the Keihin carbs from the Nordie, they are now dangling on the throttle cables and a fuel pipe and in best sods law fashion, not leaking from the float chambers (or anywhere else)I will leave them hanging till next weekend with a drip tray underneath B)
The RC now has a front brake and is rideable, just swapped the number plate over from the Nordie :P don't any of you tell the local fuzz, they have never heard of Gilera and there is no mention of the colour on the registration documents, I think they even misspelt Gilera

Tricky coves float needles. Some blame the ethanol in modern petrol. The one in the Keihin PWK on the YZ250 was playing up at Hartland. Flooding until the engine was started. Also it felt very flat and rich running even though it was brass monkeys. The lad was not pleased and said it was slower than his 125 of last year.

Put in a new one and also discovered the main jet was a size bigger than the experts reccomend for use with an FMF Fatty and Bioyersen reeds. It certainly sounded very crisp when I started it up last week and the lad was looking forward to riding it at Wiscombe yesterday.

Unfortunately we were rear ended on the M5 on Friday evening. Trailer destroyed and the YZs badly battered. Also a YZ450 front shaped dent in the back door of the Granvia and the back window smashed. :( We were OK and even the rear-ender got away unharmed. Though he got to get a ride in a police car under arrest.

Hi 72, glad to hear you are both are OK and hope you're rear ender will have valid insurance cover, being carried away by the police could be the start of bad news.

The police told me the car had come up as insured on the MIB database and was being driven by the registered keeper. I realise that doesn't guarantee that the insurance is totally valid.
The arrest was for drink driving. I may get a 'no fault' specialist on the case. Apparently other drivers had already phoned in to report his erratic driving just before he hit us. Fingers crossed that the Granvia isn't a write off if the force transmitted through the towbar has affected the floor pan. The trailer is toast:
